Feeling a little weird
It could be the medication I'm on or the aftermath of the problem with my foot, but I'm feeling rather weird. My head is a little "swimmy" and my arms have a lethargic quality to them that gives me the impression that they aren't mine at all. Perhaps someone swapped them during the night. At least I can type with them (well, after a fashion). Woah! My head went really wild just then. If I start not making sense then you'll have to forgive me. Or perhaps you'll notice there's something wrong when I do make sense, who knows. I think I'm beginning to ramble...

Yet more Broken Sword goodness
Etoychest has a review of the game that gives it 5/5. "This is simply a magnificent game, by anybody's standards."
Dane & Joe thoughts
If you haven't already done so, I suggest you read the latest strip on the Just Adventure site.
Now Joe's reaction is interesting because they both live in Juniper Crescent (as part of my larger family of strips). On occasion, someone who bears an uncanny resemblance to a certain writer/artist makes the occasional cameo appearance in the Juniper Crescent strip. Which implies that they are neighbours. Not only is Joe's last word puzzling, but why are they queuing to have their neighbour sign a game? Sometimes these things just don't bear too much scrutiny. :)
Dane & Joe
I've just updated the website with last week's strip (and posted it to my mailing list, which will also be getting a copy of this message and so duplicating the news). This week's strip is a Broken Sword special and has been posted on the Just Adventure site.
Pine needles
Today the wind is pretty strong and the cul-de-sac where I live is carpeted with pine needles from the trees at the back of the house. Even though my foot is a bit better today, I don't know when I'll get my shoes on and be able to do some tidying in the garden. The pond in particular is looking rather untidy. The footpaths are a mess and the needles get brought into the house on people's shoes. :(
More Broken Sword
There is a new review of Broken Sword - The Sleeping Dragon on the Just Adventure site. Here's a quote:
Broken Sword: The Sleeping Dragon is a triumph. It’s at the same time a real 3D game and a crackerjack pure adventure. High levels of craftsmanship and designer TLC are evident throughout the game. Playing it is like falling into an exciting movie thriller. This game is recommended for anyone, and for adventure lovers it’s absolutely not to be missed. Final Grade: A+

At the hospital
I spent all afternoon at the hospital. No I tell a lie, half of the time was trying to get to and from the hospital - traffic was terrible. But thanks to June we got through. :)
I don't have a broken foot - which was what I'd suspected, even though I didn't remember injuring it. There doesn't seem to be anything wrong with the tendons. As it's blown up like a balloon and turned a very nasty red colour, the doctor says it's infected. So I'm taking antibiotics and pain killers. I'm not feeling very well and am pretty tired so I'm going to call it a day. The D&J stuff I was hoping to do will have to wait for another time. Some holiday this is turning into. :(

In Pain
I have a severe pain in my right foot that I'm a bit baffled by. It came on last evening and disturbed my sleep most of the night. It feels like I dropped a heavy weight on it, but I haven't. Although I've taken some painkillers, it has only dulled the pain a little and I'm trying to concentrate on things to take my mind off it, but it only partly works. I did, however, spend all morning playing Knights of the Old Republic, which I'm enjoying immensely. I wish that the dialogue was a bit more dynamic, but other than that it's a great game. I could see the line betseen adventures and RPGs blurring much more in the future and this could be LucasArts way back into the adventure genre, of sorts.
Dane & Joe - Broken Sword special!
In spite of the pain I'm in, I managed to put together this week's Dane & Joe strip which is centred on the release of Broken Sword - The Sleeping Dragon this weekend. It will be going up on the Just Adventure site on Friday. I'm also putting together a few D&J promo pieces which should be ready by the weekend, too (I hope).

Broken Sword nominated for BAFTA awards
Broken Sword - The Sleeping Dragon has been nominated for three BAFTA awards, Design, PC and Adventure. As only six games are nominated in each category, it's quite an honour as it's saying that it's one of the top six games in each of three categories.
Steve Hogan - a kind and thoughtful guy
From the Comixpedia forum:
"Though I'm of Irish descent, I dig Steve's Britishness. He's got the old school chops that most webcomics artists would kill for. less lame fat arse jokes than VIZ, way funnier than the COR!!! hardcover annual I bought and far less wife beating than ANDY CAPP. Plus he doesn't have horrible film adaptations of his work like that guy with the long hair and the beard.
Thanks Steve.
Don't forget to read Acid Keg, everyone!
Juniper Crescent updated
I have just posted the latest JC strip to the website. It took some doing to get all those words into four panels. :)

New Gogs 3
Today has been a bit strange, probably because I've been spending more time at the computer and drawing. Drawing is particularly weird as when I do close-up work I can only look through the bottom part of the lens.
