Comic Mania Archive
Some of you may remember I was invited to contribute original artwork to a huge archive. The strip I contributed can be seen on this page (it's the bottom one).

I just received an excellent e-mail from David Walberg, the archive builder:

It all began with a simple enough idea: a research project to locate all the comics on the Internet. I ended up with a shoebox full of 3x5 cards about comic strips, panels and editorial cartoons, and I'm sure I've only scratched the surface.

For the past five months, I have sent E-mails to every cartoonist I could find. I wanted everyone to have an opportunity to join the massive archive (more than 130,000 comics) that has become my life's work. The invitations have went out to cartoonists all over the world.

Now that this project has come to an end, I would like to thank everyone who responded. Your kindness and generosity have been overwhelming. The archive now has a fine collection or original work. I am hoping the Cartoon Research Library at the University of Ohio will spotlight the creator contributed files when I donate everything. I'm still waiting for some of the work to arrive, but there is no deadline to this project. I am hoping to reach a quarter million total items before donation.

As well as the laughs and the artwork, I have made some great friends through this project. With few exceptions, response to my project have been incredibly encouraging. I'm always willing to discuss comics, and the creators with whom I've formed bonds have had a lot to say on the subject.

Special thanks go out to the following:

Tony Cochran, who was the first to respond to my E-mail.
Mort Walker, whose work was the first to arrive.
Steve Ince, Jim Toomey, and Jason Grodin who made comics specifically about the archive.

Keep 'tooning,

David Walberg

You're more than welcome, David. Be sure to keep us all informed of the progress of the archive.

Nominated for an award!
Nominees have been named for Game Developers Choice Awards and four of us at Revolution have been nominated in the category of Excellence in Writing for our work on Broken Sword - The Sleeping Dragon. The four of us are Charles Cecil, Steve Ince, Neil Richards, and Tony Warriner.

The full story can be found here with a mention here.

You could say that I'm more than a little chuffed. :)

More Sapphire Claw colouring
I've coloured another two of the Sapphire Claw strips. You can see them here and here.

Updates
Don't forget that Juniper Crescent and Smiley Street updates are online with another Smiley Street update on Thursday.

More than a little patronising
The Editor's Note over at Games Domain is written in a pretty patronising way, even if you're not over 35 (and over the hill it might seem). Considering he's going to ask the game developers directly I'm still waiting for his call... :)

The Laws of Cat Physics
Take a look here. It's all true!

I love this picture
Take a look at this picture.

I love the way it seems to be so intent on looking at the book. And the angle on it's paws... See, I knew Scout was real.

Thanks to Scott Kurtz for that one.

More updates
I've consolidated the design of the site on the main pages. Dane & Joe will also be at the larger size from now on.

No Web Comic of the Week
There is no Web Comic of the Week this week.

My mind is all over the place and I don't think I could do justice to the strip I chose. Sorry.
