Hot and humid
June and I just spent a really good day on the island of La Palma. It's the most beautiful of the places we've visited so far. And the first place that we found a really good gift shop that was open during the siesta. Some of these shops would make more money if they opened during the time that the boat is in dock. We went on a fabulous excursion this morning and this afternoon walked around the city. The shops will be about ready to re-open now, but we're now preparing to set sail for Madeira.

We had a fabulous all-day excursion to the volcanic mountains of Teneriffe yesterday. I shall expand on that at a later time as I'm about to run out of credit at the moment and Have to decide whether or not to add to the credit before the end of the cruise.

I'll be back home next Tuesday.

Nearing Gran Canaria
We should have already docked at the time of writing this, but a couple of nights ago a medical emergency meant that the ship had to turn back to Cadiz and this put half a day onto our time. We seem to have made much of it up, so I think the captain expects us to be back on schedule by tomorrow.

Yesterday I wrote and drew a Juniper Crescent comic strip, which I will scan in when I get home.

I've been spending some time each day on the treadmill in the gym to try and counteract all of the delicious food. Last night, for instance, I had cheesecake made with Bailey's Irish cream. Delicious is an understatement. Anyway, I went on the treadmill at seven o'clock this morning and found no one else was in the gym. :) I'd walk around the deck but using the treadmill means I can monitor my heart rate and optimise the calorie burn.

June and I are going to visit the Bandama crater this afternoon, which should be pretty good.
