Older news

14th June. Shop Closed.
I have closed my souvenir shop. I wasn't completely happy with the quality of some items and it's way too costly if you live outside of the US.

*****

1st June. Caitlin photos.
Take a trip over to my
photos page to see newly posted images of my grand-daughter, Caitlin.

29th May. THANKS.
With the heady news that came through at the beginning of the week and the heavy weekend I had, I totally forgot my manners.
I'd like to offer a big THANK YOU to all those people who visited the UK Comic Festival in Bristol and voted for Juniper Crescent. I'd like to thank you all personally, but I don't know who you are. If you ever feel inclined, please drop me a line.

*****

26th May. Grandad now.
My eldest son, Shaun, and his girlfriend, Emma, have just become parents of a beautiful baby daughter.
I shall post pictures when I've had the chance to take some.

18th April. Dane & Joe Gets Hosted
Dane & Joe, the new comic strip by Steve Ince, is being hosted by the top adventure gaming site, Just Adventure +.
From 18th April, a new strip will be appearing each Friday, and a full week before being posted on the Juniper Crescent web site.
Just Adventure + is the top gaming web site to cover the adventure genre and related gaming genres. With news, reviews and opinion that draws interest from the most hardened fan to industry professionals, Just Adventure + is a true quality site. Beating off competition from other interested parties enabled them to host the strip, Dane & Joe.

8th April. Webcomics Awareness.
The annual Webcomics Awareness event is nearly upon us. This will be the second time that I will have participated and I shall be creating a special Dane & Joe strip to mark the occasion. For those interested in taking part in the event, more details can be found

30th Mar. Dane and Joe.
For a long time I've wanted to do a strip that relates to gaming and computers in some way. KittenSoft didn't quite work because it was a bit too close to home. So I've decided to promote Dane and Joe from Juniper Crescent into their own strip to see how that works. Whilst gaming will be the main focus of the strip - because gaming is so important to the pair of them - there are times when other incidents will crop up in their lives.
The strip will appear whenever I have a new one ready. I'd like to say it would be every week, but Juniper Crescent and The Sapphire Claw will take precedence. And if I have to put in a lot of hours this will likely put the skids on everything.
While I'm going through the initial phases, some of the strips will be a re-working of already existing Juniper Crescent strips and some will be strips that have already appeared and simply transferred over.
I hope you all enjoy the new perspective.

19th Mar. Colour.
The good news is that I'm returning to colour with both The Sapphire Claw and Juniper Crescent. I decided that I like the colour too much and the strips look so much better. I'm also being given the colour back page of Nucomix from issue 15, which has Sapphire Claw strips starting with the beginning of chapter 1. So this means that I'm also going to be working through my Sapphire Claw archives from episode 21 until they meet with where I am at the moment. Then I shall return to the prologue and colour the remaining episodes there.
There is a good chance that I may have to skip the occasional week in order to deliver the colour, but I think that overall the increased quality will be worth it.

16th Mar. Print comics.
Issue 2 of The Girly Comic has just been released and is a quality read that I highly recommend. It contains an exclusive 3-page Juniper Crescent strip that won't be appearing anywhere else. The story is called "Boy Trouble" and features a number of the girls from Juniper Crescent as they discuss the opposite sex.
It has a back cover filled with excellent quotes from many comic magazines and quality websites and can be ordered from:
www.factorfictionpress.co.uk
Please help support one of the best small press comics around at the moment.

Also:
Issue 12 of Nucomix has just been published. This comic features a number of ongoing strips (earlier issues are available) as well as a Juniper Crescent strip and The Sapphire Claw in each issue.
It is mostly keeping to a monthly schedule and deserves to be well-supported, so if you think you may be interested why not pop over to the comic's website and check out the samples on offer. You can find them at:
http://www.nucomix.fsnet.co.uk/welcome.htm

*****

12th Mar. An apology.
I'm sorry, but there will be no episode of The Sapphire Claw this week. A busy week at work means I'm too tired to do a proper job of the inking and I don't want to compromise the quality.

Back next week for definite. With some good news, too I hope.

28th Feb. Just a reminder.
Just in case you don't happen to have noticed, if you scroll down to the bottom of the page you will find a subscription box for if you'd rather receive the Juniper Crescent and The Sapphire Claw strips in your e-mail inbox. They will be sent out to the list at the same time as being posted on the site, so you'll always be up to date.
Also, if you feel like sending me any feedback on the strips here, then please feel free to do so by using any of the methods on the left. I do appreciate all feedback and will always give you a response.

15th Feb. Shop updated.
I have added more souvenirs to the shop, namely a Scout mug and a number of kitten Soft items. Check it out
here

14th Feb. Forum update.
The forum has been updated to give it a cleaner look with the navigation text eiasier to read, so thanks to Jeff at Deep Fried Hosting for making the changes on my behalf. I've also been posting some new threads on the forum for those interested in taking a look and possibly contributing.
Landmark episode. As you will see from the heading at the top of the page, Juniper Crescent has reached the milestone of 100 strips. Whilst it's still small relative to the guys who create a strip each day, it really feels like I've achieved something substantial. I hope you enjoy reading as much as I enjoy creating the strips.
New page. I've added in a new page of photos. Many of these have been posted in the past, but I will add more as I take them or find more older ones.

7th Feb. Souvenir Shop opens!
I took the plunge and created a shop on the Cafepress site. There are only a few items on sale so far while I see how it fares, but if you're interested in taking a look, click

1st Feb. Increased traffic.
Visitor numbers to the site have gone up yet again, so once more I'd like to thank everyone who's popped by to take a look and hopefully become a regular visitor. Many thanks.

28th Jan. Excellent comic recommendation.
A colleague of mine, Allan Bednar, has done the artwork on an excellent comic called Miranda, written by Lance Parkin. It has a Doctor Who connection, but not knowing anything about the good doctor won't prevent you from enjoying this. You can find out more by visiting the website
here

20th Jan. Convention Invite.
Further details as promised. The venue is:

Abrahams Cafe Bar
38-42 Westgate
Huddersfield

Apparently it's near the railway station if you're thinking of attending. If you are, I look forward to chatting with you.

*****

17th Jan. Convention Invite.
I've been invited to attend a small comics convention in Huddersfield as one of the guest artists. It's on the 25th Jan and I'm still awaiting further details, but if any of you happen to be in the area, perhaps we'll get the chance to have a chat. I'll post further details as I get them.

*****

14th Jan. New Day for The Sapphire Claw.
As part of the new rationalisation, I've decided that I shall be posting new episodes of The Sapphire Claw on Wednesday evenings, UK time, starting this week.

*****

14th Jan. No more KittenSoft for now.
I've decided not to do more KittenSoft strips for the time being. I felt that this cartoon strip wasn't working as well as my other strips and after my initial burst of ideas I find I'm struggling to come up with new ones.

I also expect that I'm going to be overloaded with work as the year progresses, Broken Sword TSD approaches completion and the planning of future projects starts to kick in.

I hope you've enjoyed what I've been able to do and I'm sorry I've been unable to continue.

Juniper Crescent and The Sapphire Claw will continue as normal.

*****

1st Jan. Happy New Year.
I've posted the stats from December on the forum. Best month yet for visitors. Thanks.

*****

31st Dec. Happy New Year.
Here's wishing you all a Happy New Year. See you in 2003!
I've added a Games Page to the site, listing the games I've worked on in my ten years with Revolution.

*****

23rd Dec. Merry Christmas.
I hope you all have a great time over the festive holiday and that Santa brings you the gift you desire.
I hope to post up the latest episode of The Sapphire Claw by Christmas Eve, but failing that it will be up by the weekend. Then all of my strips will be taking a one week break.
Here's wishing you all a Happy New Year. See you in 2003!

*****

27th Nov. New stuff.
I've posted some new items on the
forum for anyone who may be interested in reading and joining any discussions.
Although it's a very different style to my cartoon work, take a look
here to see something I'm thinking of developing. If you follow the link you'll see the first episode of a more serious story. I hope you enjoy.

*****

24th Nov. Updated my links page.
I've changed the layout of this page slightly as well as updating the links page. If you think your site should be included in my list, why not drop me a line.

*****

8th Oct. The Sapphire Claw has returned with episode 21, which marks the start of chapter 1.

*****

18th Sept. The Sapphire Claw - a mini milestone.
Episode 20 has just been posted and this marks the end of the prologue. Following a brief break of two weeks, Chapter 1 will start with episode 21. Stay tuned.

*****

14th Sept. Smiley Street - discontinued
Unfortunately, I'm feeling the effects of working hard on BS3 and also doing a lot of cartooning. Something had to go. Although I enjoy Smiley Street (and it's certainly easy to create), it's my other strips that I feel are more important. The Sapphire Claw is coming up to episode 20, after which there will be a short break before the story takes off properly. Juniper Crescent is slowly heading towards the 100th strip and I want to find the time to do some longer strips. And KittenSoft is just getting established.

I also have some decorating that I've been putting off for way too long...

For the time being the Smiley Street page will remain open.
